Marathon

Diese Woche habe ich entschieden, mich in den kommenden Monaten auf einen Marathon vorzubereiten - erst einen Halbmarathon und dann einen kompletten Marathon.
Seit ein paar Monaten habe ich keine Beschwerden mehr im Lendenwirbelbereich und habe das nun zum Anlass genommen, diesen Schritt in Richtung gesunderes und fitteres Leben zu gehen. Im Internet habe ich einen Trainingplan gefunden, der mich langsam und ich denke gut darauf vorbereiten wird. :)
Frei nach dem Motto: neues Jahr neues Glück und neue Abenteuer!!! :)
Heute bin ich die erste Trainingsstrecke gelaufen. Bei eiskaltem und klarem Wetter, Sternen und Mond am klaren Winterhimmel und einem herrlichen Blick auf die beleuchtete Altstadt Goslars. :) Ein sehr guter Start!! :)

This week I decided to prepare for a marathon the next couple of months - first a half marathon and then a full marathon.
As my lumbar region doesn't hurt anymore after running, I decided to take this step into the direction to a healthier and fitter life. I did find a good trainign schedule online.
With the motto in mind: new life, new luck and adventures!! :)
Today, I did run the first time with my training schedule. It was clear, crisp winter evening with stars and the moon in the sky and a beautiful view over the historic town center of Goslar. :) It's a very good start!! :)

Beloved Young Women

Am Sonntag hatte ich die Gelegenheit, mit den Jungen Damen über den Heiligen Geist zu sprechen. Dabei haben wir besonders darüber gesprochen, dass einer der Schlüssel für die ständige Belegleitung des Heiligen Geistes die persönliche Würdigkeit ist. Bei der Vorbereitung musste ich viel über das Ideal Tugendhaftigkeit nachdenken, das ja im Programm mein Fortschritt mit der Farbe GOLD symbolisiert wird.
Ich bin so dankbar, dass es dieses "neue" Ideal gibt, das den Mädchen und vor allem mir hilft, mich immer wieder daran zu erinnern, wie wichtig es ist, ein tugendhaftes Leben zu führen, sodass wir beständig den Heiligen Geist mit uns haben können. Wie dankbar bin ich für Schwester Elaine S. Dalton (Präsidentin der Jungen Damen der Kirche) und ihre wunderbaren Ansprachen über die Bedeutung und die Kraft eines tugenhaften Lebens. Am Sonntag habe ich dann ein Video gefunden, das einen Teil einer besonders schönen Ansprache von ihr zum Inhalt hat:

Diese Schönheit, von der sie in dieser Ansprache spricht strahlen für mich alle diese wunderbaren Jungen Damen aus, die ihr bestes geben, um sich Christus als Vorbild zu nehmen und seinem Beispiel zu folgen. Ich bin so dankbar, dass ich jedes dieser Mädchen kennen darf.
Am Ende der Klasse hat jedes Mädchen als Erinnerung eine kleine Papierschachtel mit Ferrero Rocher (goldene Verpackung) und einem kleinen Spruch dazu erhalten.

On Sunday I had the opportunity to teach the Young Women in my ward again. I love to teach these girls because I am learning so much everythime myself. We talked about the influence of the Holy Ghost in our lifes. One major point was the importance of a worthy life. As I prepared the lesson I was filled with gratitude for the "new" value of Virtue in the program "Personal Progress"! If we all strive to live a virtuous life we will be blessed with the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost!! What a blessing!! I am so grateful that the current YW General Presidency were inspired to choose this value!! I am so thankful for the many wonderful talks sister Elaine S. Dalton gave on this topic! On Sunday afternoon I found a new video based on one of her inspiring talks about virtue and real beauty. This talk really touched me thinking of "my" YW in my ward and their beauty deep inside and outside: https://lds.org/youth/video/deep-beauty?lang=eng . These girls are amazing and an inspiration for my own life. I feel so blessed beiny able to know them and learn of them!! At the end of the lesson I gave them small paper boxes with 2 Ferrero Rocher (golden wrapped) and a quote to remind them of the importance of living a virtuous life. :)

New year, new chance

I once started this blog, when I survived a terrible accident without any harm but then stopped posting afterwards. I've decided I'll start over again posting thoughts and experiences I'll have to share with others - especially my friends and family who live quite aways.
I feel so blessed with so many wonderful people and experiences in my daily life, I would like to share it with others.
